Nike teams up with long-time partner Concepts to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the beloved Air Max 1. Dubbed ‘Message to The Universe’, this collaboration embodies the eccentric, free-spirted displayed by festival goers in the 60’s and 70’s.
Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 SP “Heavy” gets its character from the era’s music festivals. With each individual pair, different shades of denim are meant to represent the wear and tear of jeans that festival goers experienced with hits of cowhide to symbolize the cows roaming the grounds of the festival hosted on a farm in Bethel, NY. The “Heavy” also includes patterned elements of bandanna, cowhide, and woven material panels. With unpredictable weather, the mud platter on the midsole symbolizes the wear of the weekend. No two are alike.
